Used Car Review - Hyundai Starex (1998-2004)
Car Choices:
Majority of Starex vans sold locally (from those distributed via the local dealer network to second hand surplus dealers) come with a 85hp 2.5 diesel engine. You get more in terms of fuel efficiency and maintenance but at the expense of performance. But then, you wouldn't buy this van to compete in drag races.
You might have an encounter with the 2.4 gasoline engine but do not bother with this as it drinks gasoline at a faster rate and expensive to keep.
Jumbo versions can be had with a manual transmission and comes with airbags, limited slip differential, power windows, power mirrors, and a cassette player. Next is the SVX that gains a roof rack, rear wiper and washer system, a front bullbar, roof rails, and a CD ready player. Plus, there is an option between a manual and an automatic transmission; which is essentially why we pick this model. Going for the Club adds ABS brakes, rear parking sensors, wood trim, disc changer, keyless entry, and only available with an automatic.
