Unlike its Korean rivals, it comes with a 89hp 1.5 that has its fuel driven through fuel injection rather than carburetor. It is zippy, but fuel economy isn't encouraging which some owners converted theirs to a carburetor engine.
Added in September 1994 is the TXi which is geared towards taxi buyers basically has steel rims, stereo system, and a different exterior styling. The ETi gets a different styling, and nicer color options while the GTi adds alloy wheels, power windows, power steering, power door locks, and antenna.
