Used Car Review - Toyota Corolla Altis (2008-2013)
Car Choices:
There is no need to look beyond the basic 1.6 with either 109hp (for pre mid-2010 models) or 122hp (for later ones) which delivers the goods albeit in a bland fashion. For maximum fuel economy, the transmission of choice is the 6-speed manual.
Only consider the high engine variants if you crave for more since they cost more to maintain and they do not match the Altis' persona. The briefly sold 132hp 1.8 feels boomy at high speeds while the 2.0 does behaves more of a luxury cruiser when paired with the CVT; struggles when paired with the 4-speed automatic.
E models get at least alloy wheels, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, electric power steering, driver's airbag, ABS brakes, LED tail lamps, fabric seats, and CD player. Our pick is the G that gains chrome bits, leather steering wheel, 60/40 rear folding bench, automatic climate control, keyless entry, and alarm. V trims with the 1.6 gain dual airbags, front and rear sensors, side skirts, rear sun shade, and six disc changer. The discontinued 1.8 V has rain sensing wipers, rear sliding console box, electric driver's seat adjustment, and leather upholstery. 2.0 V adds mesh grille and paddles behind the steering wheel.
