1998-2005 Mitsubishi Galant
The Good: Sharp styling, engines have grunt
The Bad: Tight rear seat, interior is cheap feeling
The Say: Still has some virtues, but not the best Galant.
Go For: 2.0 Super Saloon/GT-A
Avoid: 2.5 VR
Price Range: P210,000-P360,000

Car Choices:
Going to the bottom is the best choice; the 2.0 4-cylinder with 136hp gives adequate acceleration plus you can either have an option of a manual or an automatic. One added bonus is the low maintenance and fuel costs due to the engine.
Give the 2.5 V6 that carries 163hp a miss for these reasons: refinement is poor compared to the Cefiro, limited appearance in the classifieds, expensive maintenance costs, and not that smooth in power delivery as the "fuzzy logic" automatic ends up gear hunting. If you prefer life in the fast lane and you are willing to accept these compromises, go for the V6.
Choosing the Super Saloon would give you a driver's airbag, fabric seats, folding rear seat, all power features, CD player, fog lamps, wood accents, and the 2.0 engine which can be paired with both transmissions. The GT-A, added in 2004, gains the following: ABS brakes, leather seats, and automatic climate control. The top end VR gets the 2.5 V6 plus a six disc changer.
