Car Choices:
There are two sets of engines available: one available from 2003-2007 and a batch sold between 2007-2009. The first batch of engines include a 2.2 4-cylinder diesel which carries 150hp, a 177hp 2.6 V6, and a supercharged 1.8 160hp 4-cylinder. The E220 diesel is our pick with its smooth acceleration and decent fuel economy. The E240 2.6 V6 is decent but we recommend the E200K 1.8 if you want something with a gasoline engine.
Next group is limited to the E220K supercharged 1.8 uprated to 184hp and a E280 3.0 V6 having 231hp. The obvious pick among the two is the former, since you'll encounter this more often. On the other hand, the V6 is one fine motor, if you have the resources to begin with.
Classic models have alloy wheels, front and side airbags, park distance system, leather seats, six disc changer, COMAND system, alarm system, tire pressure system, front and rear proximity sensors, stability control, and automatic slip reduction. Elegance adds moon roof, disc changer (for earlier models), automatic dimming side mirrors, rear sun side shade, hands free phone, and Harman Kardon (for 2007 and later models) sound system. Sport gains chrome bits, automatic HID headlights, rain sensing wipers, and illuminated center console. Avantgarde models gain large wheels, aluminum pedals, xenon headlamps, and panoramic sunroof.
