We wouldn't give any special citation to the 2.2 4-cylinder which produces 129hp. Other than possessing a smooth and creamy acceleration, ride quality and insulation, the same period Accord trumps it in the driving experience.
Dropped in 2001 is the basic GLE which gives you dual airbags, ABS brakes, front and rear fog lamps, wood accents, cassette player, 14 inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, and alarm system. Go for the GX that gains an automatic climate control and six disc changer but loses a rear fog lamp. Only available with an automatic (the other two can be had with a manual) is the GXE that gives you four airbags and leather seats.
