The 4.2 V8 engine can be had with either 300hp (for XK8 models) or 400hp (standard among XKR units) produced through supercharging. Both carry a six-speed automatic and at the end of the day, go for the lesser engine since it would not frighten first time drivers and somewhat benefit from a low cost of ownership.
Standard on all models are leather seats, stability control, six airbags, front and rear sensors, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, stereo with cassette and six disc changer, power folding top, power windows, power door locks, power folding mirrors, and automatic climate control. XKR gains 12 speakers (against the XK8's 8) and 18 inch alloy wheels (17 inch for the XK8).
