Car Choices:
Introduced in February 2012, the 2.0 inline five diesel with 163hp (D3) is economical at best while returning decent acceleration.

Among the gasoline engines, we'd give our nod to the the 180hp 1.6 4-cylinder (called the T4) which is willing despite the lowly displacement. Dubbed the T5, the 2.0 4-cylinder carrying 240hp is fine but the 3.0 T6 with 304hp is best avoided.

All models come with Volvo's City Safety, lane departure warning, adaptive break light, collision warning, traction control, cruise control, tire pressure monitor, side airbags, folding rear seat, heated seats, sunroof, speed limiter, rain sensor, and power outlet. Options include a rear lid spoiler, park assist camera, DVD player with headrest mounted screens, towbar, and load carrier. Brake energy charging is available in all but the T4 while Start/Stop Technology can be had with the D3 and T4.

In June 2013, Polestar engine upgrades and R-Design body kits can be had for no cost among gasoline variants. R-Design package includes 18 inch wheels, diffuser, rear spoiler, sport pedals, sport gear knob, sport bumper, and sport exhaust tips with bump in power for the following models: 200hp for the T4, 240hp for the T5, and 329hp for the T6.
